ANNOUNCING OUR First virtual solo PIANO COMPETITION Winners’ concert series

Arizona Piano Institute’s 2021 Virtual Solo Piano Competition, directed by Dr. Elias-Axel Pettersson, drew 130 participants from across North America and illuminated the outstanding musicianship of today’s young artists.

The Board of Arizona Piano Institute hosted a three-part concert series featuring remarkable performances by winners from all divisions. Their performances are now archived below:

CONCERT I: AUGUST 15, 2021
CONCERT II: SEPTEMBER 12, 2021
CONCERT III: OCTOBER 17, 2021

A digital program for all three concerts provides details on the winners, judges, and Arizona Piano Institute. We suggest following the PDF (printable) on a separate device while viewing the concerts on a larger screen for an enhanced experience.

The first concert showcases extraordinary Junior Division winners (ages 13 and under) who, at a formative age, have already achieved high levels of playing. The second concert highlights Senior Division performers (ages 14-17), gifted young winners who have made further artistic commitment. The final concert features Aspiring Professional Division laureates (ages 18-25) preparing for music careers.

These concerts shine brightness amidst trying times, so share them with your friends, family, and fellow music lovers. We hope our featured winners—with their artistic prowess and fervor for music—will impress and inspire all of you as they did us and the renowned jury panels.

While this series is free and open to the virtual public, donations are gratefully accepted to support young artists.

Your contribution—whether in-kind or financial—is vital in helping fulfill our mission. Any donations to Arizona Piano Institute, a nonprofit 501(c)(3), are tax-deductible. Heartfelt gratitude goes out to those who have made our successful North American Virtual Solo Piano Competition and other online events possible. We hope to keep passing the artistic torch to the next generation of passionate music makers and critical thinkers.

Be sure to explore API’s annual Summer Festival slated for the first week of June 2022 in metropolitan Phoenix. This immersive, inspiration-inducing, and enriching program provides a safe place where young pianists work with internationally-lauded artist-pedagogues and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow musicians who share a love of music and piano. In addition, API’s Concerto Competition gives young pianists rare and coveted opportunities to perform with orchestras.

Thanks for tuning in online, and we hope to see you in person soon. In the meantime, stay safe, vigilant, and care for your neighbors.

On behalf of all of us at API, enjoy the concerts!
