Summer Festival
Arizona Piano Institute’s annual Summer Festival is a premier program in metropolitan Phoenix, Arizona—one unique to the Southwest. Our one-week program in the first full week of June is designed for young and emerging pianists between 8 and 18 years of age.
Students have the opportunity to participate in scheduled solo and ensemble masterclasses, workshops, recitals, and performance practice. Workshops on a myriad of well-rounded topics include performance practice, period keyboards, instrument construction, literature, theory and aural skills, sight reading, composition and improvisation, conducting, and more. The week opens with a Faculty Artist Concert and culminates in a Young Artists’ Showcase Concert, in which all students perform.
This experience inspires and motivates young pianists, helping prepare them for future performances, auditions, and competitions. While connecting with world-renowned pianists and pedagogues, students develop lifelong friendships with fellow pianists and like-minded individuals and absorb the atmosphere from their environment.
