The Heritage Scholarship Fund
Founded by API student Alexander Tam

The API Heritage Scholarship honors students dedicated to the art of fine pianism, recognizes their continued commitment to excellence in performance, and aids those demonstrating financial need.

"As an attendee of Arizona Piano Institute since its inception, I can unequivocally say that API has been a deeply enriching and rewarding experience. I am especially grateful for the tireless dedication of the teachers and staff - due to their teaching and support, I have been able to succeed in piano competitions throughout Arizona. I would like to take what I have earned and pay it forward by giving another dedicated student the opportunity to attend API, when he or she might not be able to otherwise. It is my sincere hope that these young pianists will be able to take as much out of API as I have - and, in the process, grow not only as musicians, but as young men and women as well." - Alexander Tam, 16 years old

Become a “Key Player”
Please consider a gift in support of the Arizona Summer Piano Institute, as you "Become a Key Player!" Our goal is to have 88 Key Players be willing to donate $20 per key! How many grand pianos might we "create" in support of this wonderful week-long program? The 88 "Key Players" will be recognized in our recital programs and on our website.

Thank you to our "Key Players"

Teachers, parents, music-lovers: we could use your help during the event! We will need volunteers in a number of capacities, for example, room monitors for master classes, workshops and performance events, helping at registration tables, or being on hand to help students find their way to various rooms. Volunteers will receive an "Auditor" fee waiver for each day they volunteer. Waivers are good for any day.

To volunteer, please contact Stuart Foster at
